He entered the residency program of internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1990 and was a fellow in the Division of Rheumatology at John Hopkins Hospital from 1993-1996.

Dr. Tidmore was asked to serve as Associate Chief of Service for the Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine from 1994-1995. He was awarded the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine House Staff Outstanding reacher Award in 1994.

He returned to South Georgia in 1996 to start his practice in rheumatology and internal medicine. Dr. Tidmore is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and rheumatology. He is on staff at South Georgia Medical Center and Smith Northview Hospital.

He was joined by his wife, Dr. Jennifer E. Lawrence of endocrinology, in 2000 to form Valdosta Specialty Clinic, a specialty clinic within Valdosta Family Medicine. Dr. Tidmore offers the newest medications for all forms of arthritis and participates in multiple studies assessing new treatment options.
