Dr. Borgan comes to Valdosta from Cleveland, Ohio, where he completed his fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Borgan specializes in adult endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, treating disorders of the endocrine system. Dr. Borgan chose to join the Lowndes County area because of the region’s vast need for more endocrinologists and his desire to make a difference. Dr. Borgan shared that he truly values the relationships he builds with his patients and treats each of them like his own family. He prides himself in being involved in his patients’ lives, showing empathy in their care. “I find joy in helping others. Hence, the selfless nature of the medical profession is the most appealing to me,” says Dr. Borgan. “I always enjoy a good mental challenge, and I like endocrinology because of the intricate and complex physiology of the body’s endocrine system.” Dr. Borgan received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He was fellowship trained at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He is board certified in internal medicine. In his free time, Dr. Borgan enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, and cooking. In fact, Borgan said that if he hadn’t attended medical school, he would have been a chef.
