She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1997. Dr. Lawrence completed her fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2000. Her principal research focused on thyroid disorders, including thyroid disease during pregnancy.

Dr. Lawrence is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and endocrinology. Dr. Lawrence practices general endocrinology at Valdosta Specialty Clinic, an affiliate of Valdosta Family Medicine. She is also the medical director of the South Georgia Medical Center’s Diabetes Management Center.

Dr. Lawrence has been active in the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, serving as a past president of the Georgia chapter and on the chapter’s board of directors. She has served on the editorial board of Endocrine Practice. She is also an active member of the American Thyroid Association.
